Things to do when visiting!

The Malmö region offers a lot of fun things to do, and with Copenhagen just around the corner, the possibilities are endless.

Here are some suggestions on places to visit in connection to the conference!

Emporia - Welcome to the largest shopping mall in Scandinavia!

The shopping mall is located 3 minutes from the conference center, has 190 stores, and offers everything you could ever wish for. Why not pop in for some technical gadgets, a look at the new Tesla model or maybe have a manicure, to rest those hard coding fingers ;-)

Visit Northern Europe's largest aquarium - Den Blå Planet

The National Aquarium Denmark – Den Blå Planet offers a unique experience, combining entertainment, fascination and knowledge in a spectacular setting.

1000 kilometres of beautiful landscape

The Skåneleden Trail is a long distance footpath through the beautiful countryside of Skåne. The Trail is over 1000 kilometres long and is divided into five separate trails, with a total of 89 stages.

Skåne is famous for its open landscapes and the rich colours from the crop fields. Why not take a few days to wander through the beautiful settings of Skåne, while visiting Malmö.

Carlsberg - Probably the best beer in the world

Just 25 minutes from the conference center, in the center of Copenhagen, lays the Carlsberg brewery. Why not take the time to learn more about how the brewery came to be and have a few beers while you’re there. Two beers or soft drinks are included in the entrance fee.

Tivoli - An amusement park in the heart of Copenhagen

Since 1843, people have been enjoying rides and treats at Tivoli. The amusement park holds 654 attractions and is located in the center of Copenhagen, just 3 minutes from the main station. One of the newest attractions is The Demon - a ride which features three amazing loops, reaches 28 metres at it's highest point and with a 20 meter physical drop. And you can also experience it with VR effects!

How to get around while visiting

There are a lot of option when travelling within Malmö city; by train, busses or bicycles.

By Train

The train (Pågatåg or Öresundståg) is 50 meters from the Quality Hotel™ View, and takes you directly to the center of the city in 5-8 minutes.

The easiest way to purchase tickets is through the Skånetrafiken app (Note that you need to be connected to the Internet when purchasing and using the ticket) A one way ticket cost 25 SEK (Appr. 2,50€). You can also get a 24-hour pass for 50 SEK. If you are traveling as a family, the Duo ticket allows 2 grownups and up to 3 children to travel on the same ticket, for the price of 37,50 SEK for the one-way ticket or 75 SEK for the whole day.

At the train station it is also possible to buy tickets from a ticket machine.

By Bus

Busses cover the entire city. From the conference center, line 8 takes you in to the city center.

By Bicycle

Malmö By Bike offers a really smooth bicycle rental in the center of Malmö. There are 50 stations placed around the city, so you can rent the bike at one station and leave it at another. You can rent bikes for one hour at the time, either by getting a 24-hour pass (80 SEK) or as a 72-hour pass (165 SEK).

The hotel provides 10 bicycles that you can borrow. It is not possible to book these bikes; first come, first serve.
